What it does

Moz Pro is an SEO tool suite from Moz. It covers the same four jobs as its larger rivals: keyword research, link research, rank tracking and site crawling for technical issues. Moz is also known for its own authority metrics, scores that estimate how strong a domain or page is in search, which many people quote when buying or evaluating links.

Plans are built around tracked sites, tracked keywords, pages crawled and monthly query allowances for keyword and backlink research, according to the pricing page as of October 2026. Recent plans also include tracked AI prompts and AI content briefs.

For an affiliate doing affiliate SEO, Moz Pro is the lighter option: enough to track positions, audit a site and look at a competitor's links, at a lower price than the comparable Ahrefs Lite or Semrush plans. Like any third-party tool, its traffic and authority figures are estimates, not facts about a site.

Who it is for

Moz Pro suits solo affiliates and small teams running one or a few content sites in organic search who mainly need rank tracking and site audits, with link and keyword research as a secondary task. In iGaming, a small guide or review site in one regulated market fits that profile. The free trial and the yearly discount make it a low-risk start.

It is a weaker fit for agencies doing heavy competitive research across many countries: the Standard plan allows 150 keyword queries a month, per the pricing page, which runs out fast. Paid media buyers on pop or push traffic do not need it at all.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • A $49 plan for a single website and Standard at $99, below Ahrefs Lite and Semrush entry plans.
  • Tracking and crawl limits on Standard fit one or a few small sites.

Cons

  • Overages are not included in plan prices, so heavy use costs extra.
  • Authority scores are Moz estimates and are often misused to price links.

How it works

You create a campaign for each site: Moz crawls it, reports technical issues, and tracks a keyword list in the search engines and locations you choose. Weekly crawls and position history show whether fixes and new pages move rankings.

Keyword Explorer and Link Explorer work on queries: each lookup counts against a monthly allowance. You look up a competitor domain, see its linking domains and top pages, then research keywords for the pages you plan. The MozBar browser extension shows authority metrics while you browse search results, which is a quick way to judge how strong the ranking pages are for a query.

Setup effort

Setup is a signup and one campaign per site: add the domain, choose locations and search engines, paste the keyword list. Crawls and tracking start on their own. The main learning curve is the query allowance: plan research sessions so the monthly keyword and backlink lookups last the month, and export results you will need again instead of repeating the same lookup. Installing the MozBar extension in your browser is optional but makes quick checks of search results easier.

Strengths

Lower entry price. As of October 2026, the pricing page says an entry-level plan "is available for $49/month" for individuals managing a single website, and Standard starts at $99, below Ahrefs Lite at $129 and the Semrush plans. Ahrefs also sells a $29 Starter plan, so compare what each plan includes, not only the entry price.

Tracking and crawling are generous for the price. Standard lists 3 tracked sites, 300 tracked keywords and 400K pages crawled per month on the same page, enough for a small affiliate site.

Free tools around the paid plan. The FAQ mentions a free Moz Community account with limited access to MozBar, Keyword Explorer and Link Explorer.

Easy exit. The FAQ says you can cancel "at any time, no questions asked".

Use authority scores as a comparison, not a forecast. Moz's Domain Authority is its own model of link strength. Before relying on it in a market, compare it with the pages that actually rank for your target queries in that country; where lower-scored pages outrank higher-scored ones, content and relevance are doing the work.

Limitations

Research allowances are small on lower plans. The comparison table on the pricing page lists 150 keyword queries and 5,000 backlink queries a month on Standard, as of October 2026. Competitive research across several iGaming markets uses that quickly; Medium raises it to 5,000 keyword queries.

Authority scores are not search engine signals. Moz's domain and page metrics are Moz's own estimates. They are useful for comparison but are often misused as a price tag for links; buying links to raise them is a link scheme risk, covered in affiliate SEO.

Overages are extra. The pricing page marks plans with "*Overages not included".

What it does not do. Moz Pro does not build links, write content, run paid campaigns, or check whether a gambling operator holds a licence in your market. It also does not replace your own Search Console data for real traffic.

Pricing, in context

As of October 2026, the pricing page lists Standard at $99 a month (1 user, 3 tracked sites, 300 tracked keywords, 400K pages crawled a month), Medium at $179 (2 users, 10 sites, 1,500 keywords, 2M pages) and Large at $299 (3 users, 25 sites, 3,000 keywords, 5M pages). Yearly prices are $79, $143 and $239 a month, shown as "billed for your first year" ($950, $1,719 and $2,868). The FAQ describes a 20% discount for yearly payment. An entry-level plan is mentioned at $49 a month, and Enterprise is on request.

On the day of the check the page also carried a promotional banner ("save up to 40%, ends today"), so first-year prices may differ from the regular ones; recheck before quoting. The Medium plan shows a "Try it free!" link, but the page does not state the trial length.

The page offers a free trial but did not state its length on 2026-10-04, so check the signup page for the current terms.

When to pick an alternative

Ahrefs and Semrush are the heavier alternatives with larger research allowances and broader feature sets, at a higher entry price. For one small affiliate site, Moz Pro's tracking and crawl limits are often enough; for an agency researching many competitors across markets, the query limits push you to Medium or to a rival. If links are the main battleground in your market, compare Moz's link data with one of the larger tools before committing to a yearly plan.

Alternatives to Moz Pro

  • AhrefsSame SEO jobs; Moz Pro is cheaper to start, Ahrefs has larger research allowances.
  • SemrushSame SEO jobs; Moz Pro is lighter and cheaper, Semrush broader with reporting.

Our verdict

Moz Pro is a reasonable choice for a solo iGaming affiliate with one or a few sites who mainly needs rank tracking, site audits and an occasional look at competitor links. Its main plans cost less than the comparable Ahrefs and Semrush plans, and the yearly discount and easy cancellation lower the risk.

It is the wrong tool when competitive research is the daily work: monthly query limits on Standard are small, and authority scores tempt people towards link buying, which carries real risk in a niche where search engines already watch link patterns closely. Recheck prices on the day you buy, since the page showed a time-limited promotion when checked.
