What it does

PropellerAds is a self-serve ad network that sells traffic from its own publisher sites. As of September 2026 its homepage lists Popunder (Onclick) in "195+ geographies", Push and In-Page Push, Interactive ads, Telegram Mini Apps, social and a DSP (propellerads.com).

You fund an account, create a campaign with targeting and a bid, and pay per impression or per click. That holds even for CPA Goal, which sets bids toward a target cost per conversion: the pricing models help page says "advertisers pay for impressions or clicks while the system finds converting traffic according to the desired CPA", so a CPA Goal campaign can spend its budget without a single conversion.

For affiliates it is mainly a volume source for push and popunder traffic, and a common testing ground for nutra offers in tier 2 and tier 3 countries.

Who it is for

PropellerAds suits affiliates who can test and cut quickly: people running a tracker, several creatives and blacklists of weak placements. The low entry deposit makes it a frequent first network for learning push and pop traffic, and for pre-testing offers before larger spend.

It is not for anyone expecting clean, intent-driven traffic. Push and pop users did not search for the product, so conversion rates are low and campaigns without a tracker usually burn budget. It is also a poor fit for brand advertisers who need tight control over where ads appear.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Low $100 entry for a first test.
  • Wide choice of bid models across push, popunder and in-page push.
  • Mature integration templates for the main trackers.

Cons

  • Zone quality varies, so blacklists and whitelists are needed.
  • Health and nutra creatives face content limits.
  • The network can stop campaigns at any time under its terms.

How it works

Bid models depend on the format. According to the PropellerAds pricing models help page, checked in September 2026: Onclick popunder runs on CPM, SmartCPM or CPA Goal; Push and In-Page Push on CPM, CPC, SmartCPC or CPA Goal; Telegram and Interactive formats on CPA Goal, CPC or SmartCPC.

Smart models let the network adjust the bid per placement within your ceiling. CPA Goal optimises toward a target cost per conversion, which requires sending conversions back by postback from your tracker. Keitaro and other trackers ship ready PropellerAds templates for the click ID and cost parameters.

A standard nutra test: push campaign at CPC in one country, several creatives, a prelander, then cutting zones that spend without conversions after a set budget.

Setup effort

Account creation and a first campaign are self-serve forms with no sales call. Connecting a tracker with postback takes longer the first time, mainly to confirm the click ID round trip. The ongoing effort is optimisation: reviewing zone reports daily and pausing weak sources. Start the first campaign on a small budget and note how long review takes before it starts spending, so you can plan later launches around it.

Moderation happens before a campaign starts and continues while it runs, so a creative that passed on day one can still be stopped later. Keep compliant backup creatives ready so one rejection does not pause the whole test.

Strengths

The entry barrier is low. The terms state "The minimum amount of the deposit starts from $100 US Dollars depending on the payment method", as of September 2026, and unused balance can be requested back within six months of the last payment if the account is compliant.

The choice of bid models per format is wide. Being able to move from CPC testing to CPA Goal once conversions exist is useful for affiliates who send postbacks.

Geographic reach is broad, and tracker support is mature: most affiliate trackers include a ready PropellerAds template, which cuts setup errors.

Because many affiliates start here, there is a lot of public material about it, so problems are usually documented somewhere.

Limitations

Traffic quality varies widely between zones, and bot or low-intent traffic is a real cost. Without a tracker and blacklisting, a test budget can disappear with no usable data.

Nutra is allowed only within limits. The push campaign rules, checked in September 2026, permit only "dietary supplements that are not regulated, like medicine", ban certain terms in push text, and forbid imitating operating system messages on landing pages and creatives. Its prohibited content list bans false and misleading information. Many nutra landers break these rules through miracle cures, fake news styling or celebrity endorsements.

Active campaigns can be stopped later: the policies overview says campaigns "are constantly reviewed by our Compliance team and may be stopped at any time without prior notice".

Pricing, in context

Rates are set by auction, so the facts tab shows minimums, not prices. Budget planning is about test size.

Illustrative arithmetic: with a $100 deposit and a $0.03 CPC bid, you buy about 3,300 clicks. If the prelander passes 10% to the offer and 3% of those submit a lead, that is about 10 leads, not enough to judge a nutra offer with confidence. Plan tests in several hundred dollars, not the minimum.

When to pick an alternative

RichAds sells similar push, pop and in-page formats and affiliates often test the same offer on both, because results differ by country. For native placements, MGID is the usual next step. The ad networks category and the push ads page cover the choice.

The practical approach is to run the same offer, lander and budget on two networks for a week and compare cost per approved lead by country in your tracker, rather than picking one on reputation. Network averages say little about your offer.

Alternatives to PropellerAds

  • AdsterraBoth sell self-serve pop and push inventory; buyers often test the same offer on both.
  • RichAdsBoth sell push and pop inventory self-serve; affiliates often test the same offer on both.

Our verdict

PropellerAds is a reasonable first network for push and pop testing: low minimum deposit, flexible bid models and good tracker support. For nutra, it works if you respect its supplement rules and avoid deceptive landers, and if you treat most early spend as research.

The traffic needs active filtering, and campaigns can be stopped at any time by compliance. Use it with a tracker and a clear test budget, and judge it on your own conversion data per country rather than on reputation.

Keep the deposit small until the first country shows approved leads at a cost that works.
